When they were little, Easter Bunny would come to our house and leave little paper footprints everywhere....leading them to their treats. This was started when they were very young and didn't really understand the concept of hidden treats. However, from there, it became such a tradition, that it continued well into their teenage years!!! When they asked why are the Easter Bunny's footprints paper I would answer as follows: Well, Easter Bunny knows that if he leaves muddy footprints all over the house that moms and dads might be upset. Therefore, when he leaves the house, he touches his nose and the footprints turn from mud to paper. Our daughter now continues this tradition with our 3 year old granddaughter and our son impressed his girlfriend with the same tradition. It's amazing how a little creativity can lead to such a wonderful tradition. My parents would, the night before, hide small chocolate eggs (the kind wrapped in foil) around the main floor of the house, and on Easter morning my sisters and I would get up and race around trying to find the eggs.

My parents were pretty specific afterward to get us to divvy up the spoils, especially when my seven-years-younger sister got in on the fun ;)

Only then could breakfast be eaten and preparations be made (in a rush) for church. I'm 25 now and I still go home for Easter every year that I can - and my parents still hide eggs. Sometimes we find them months afterwards, hidden in some little nook or cranny. They're still delicious.

@arielletje on Twitter.Arielhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04324569219971390845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6374637025604527940.post-67760889334664584222012-03-23T20:30:48.169-04:002012-03-23T20:30:48.169-04:00Thanks for the contest!
