I love this pasta!

Le Veneziane Corn Pasta
Le Veneziane (empty package, oops)
I used to love Fettucini before being diagnosed with Celiac Disease... but the gluten-free versions (i.e. rice pasta versions) that I've tried always seemed to be too thick and usually clumped together while cooking.  Not to mention the starchy mess in the pot...

Then I came across Le Veneziane corn pasta.  It is made in Italy and man, they know what they're doing over there.

Fettucine is Italian for "little ribbons" - and that's exactly how I would describe Le Veneziane. Delicate ribbons.  They come in six little "nests" inside the package and unravel when cooking.

I had no issues with the noodles sticking together while cooking.  I picked them up at Sobeys... not sure which other stores have them.

What's your favourite kind of pasta?  Rice, corn, quinoa..?

  1. Corn pasta is totally the way to go. I've been using it for a while now. I barely touch the rice pasta anymore. Zehr's (Loblaws) also carries a good brand called San Zenore.

  2. Rice for sure...I've tried corn, buckwheat, and quinoa pasta...and no luck. I can't stand the texture they provide, whereas Rice is so similar to wheat pasta. Rice for the win!

  3. Jax I recently bought a pasta called Misura which is gluten free, a product of Milano, it is a combination of corn 79.8% and rice 19.7% and it is the best I have tried yet. I live near london ontario & purchased it @ the Remark store in London. Corn is my choice. Thanks for all your hard work keeping us informed. Christine

  4. I recently found this same brand as well! By far the best one I've found so far! Being intolerant to rice as well, corn pasta is the way to go. I have been able to find this variety at a small italian grocery store, but glad to know I can find it at Sobey's. Thanks!

Truly, everyone can enjoy this delicable pasta as it has just as much flavour as wheat pasta without the gas, bloating and nausious effects! The Penna with a sweet basil red sauce is to die for!! Trust me..I have had some horrible gluten-free products over the past 10 years...this is the best out there!! BRAVO!!!
