All mixes are free from:
gluten, wheat, corn, dairy, soy, corn, peanuts and tree nuts.
They are also kosher, vegan and have no sugar added. You get to decide what kind of sugar and how much to add. The mixes are mainly comprised of chickpea flour, something that I feel comfortable incorporating in my diet on a regular basis. Fiber, protein and nutrients, who could ask for more?
I got to meet Tammie, one of the founders of the company. She's awesome and I admire her ability to multitask and keep on top of everything.
I received a sample pack of the Pancake & Waffle Mix to try out. Naturally, I decided to have waffles for dinner.
My waffles turned out perfect! Nice and fluffy inside and both sides turned a nice golden colour. The instructions didn't call for sugar in this particular mix but I tossed in a couple tablespoons to be safe. I have a massive sweet tooth. Topped with blueberries and real maple syrup - yum!! (No Aunt Jemima in this house...)
By the way, if you don't have a waffle maker, I'd suggest getting one! They are pretty cheap but come in really handy. The one I have is a Proctor Silex Belgian Waffle Bakerwhich can be purchased on Amazon.ca. How can you resist this masterpiece?
If you would like to get your hands on some Allergic Solution mixes, you can find them in select stores in Ontario or you can purchase them online from Gluten-Free-Grocery.com.

I like waffles best, I think they're more fun than pancakes, because the little square divots hold so much extra syrup or fruit! I like to make my own "syrup" sometimes with berries.

Blue Berry Pancakes! Lots and lots of blue berries! Yum

Mmmm Waffles! And thanks for reminding me that I need to get that Waffle maker :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite topping ever is this caramel chocolate sea salt sauce that my best friend just gave me- she got it at a trade show and it is gluten-free and OMG. But if I am being good- peanut butter and syrup or fresh strawberries and syrup :)
I prefer waffles! Strawberry sauce with a little whipcream with syrup is my favourite topping.
ReplyDeleteWaffles, but I don't have a waffle pan. :(
ReplyDeleteFavourite topping is a Strawberry-Blueberry Compote with lots of whipped cream and powdered sugar. Mmm... :)
Or Sauteed Apples with some Caramel Sauce. Jax, this is tough! LOL!

Waffles on the way! Odd - but peanut butter and syrup makes a wonderful combo.
ReplyDeleteI prefer waffles. They are perfect for any meal and the topping choices are endless. My favourite waffle topping would have to be whipped cream and strawberries...mmmm
ReplyDeleteI prefer Belgium waffles :) I like to make them with a waffle maker and put peanut butter and syrup on them.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway! I love Allergic Solution products!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely have to say waffles.. because they are crispy and soft! I like to use them to make a breakfast egg sandwich.
It depends on my mood, the morning (or evening) when I make them. Blueberry pancakes or strawberry waffles with syrup. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI prefer waffles! The best waffles in the world are hangover waffles - topped with a poached egg and fruit preserves (I prefer apple or cherry). It sounds kind of gross but it's probably the best waffle in the world.
ReplyDeleteI love waffles. It's been years since i had one, because creating allergen free waffles (especially without the egg) is a tricky.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite topping is what mom would call "peach melba" it's got grape jam and peaches and yummyness all mixed in.

We are fortunate to have a blueberry patch right next to our home - nothing like picking the berries and making fresh pancakes right away!
ReplyDeleteWell I love waffles, but if I am making them, I prefer pancakes. I make them in small little circles so I can eat as many as I want. Pure dark maple syrup with lightly cooked berries poured all over them. Yumz.
ReplyDeleteWaffles hands down!! Fave topping is not really a topping...sandwich vanilla ice cream between gf waffles for a delicious ice cream sandwich! :)
ReplyDeleteTammy Turai (fb)
I prefer pancakes with real maple syrup...
ReplyDeleteI love waffles! I enjoy topping them off with some dulce de leche creme, some strawberries and a little bit of whip cream! All homemade of course! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteAnnette DiTommaso Chiechi
In our house we like to make cinnamon vanilla waffles (both mixed into the mix) topped with the kids choice of mixed berry syrup or tropical fruit and maple syrup ( I prefer only the real as well =D)
ReplyDeletePaula Anne Parent (facebook) =D
Haven't had waffles since 2008. Definitely a favourite with whip cream and strawberries.
ReplyDeleteLisa Cossey
mmm, what a hard choice. I love waffles and pancakes. But i have to say my favourite is homemade blueberry or chocolate chip banana pancakes with maple syrup.
ReplyDeleteOk I know I can't win but I wanted to add my favorite way to eat waffles, I get GF sausages, sliced length wise, put on top of one waffle, spread goat cheese on another waffle then assemble like a sandwich. Awesome on the go breakfast sandwich or for dinner depends on my mood.
ReplyDeleteI am going with pancakes... there more effort to a pancake... and nothing like mom made pancakes with real maple syrup!
ReplyDeleteWaffles - I love the crunch on the outside of a freshly made waffle, and I love to fill each little hole with maple syrup. Yum.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, my mom would sometimes squeeze a lemon over my pancakes and then sprinkle with some sugar. To this day I LOVE pancakes and lemon with sugar (I haven't posted here before, so I will add my Facebook - Sue Hilton)
ReplyDeleteI like pancakes a bit better than waffles. Pancakes remind me when I made friends with an Aussie girl when I was a kid. She showed me a popular topping to go on top. Sprinkle some sugar on top Nd squeeze some lemon on it. Yummy. Christine

Hmm tough one...how about both...waffles with blueberries, But.. Pancakes with slices bananas, walnuts and maple syrup mmmmmmm!
ReplyDeletePancakes, hands down win for me... and I love them with a little butter and some syrup....and now I have to go make some....
ReplyDeleteI prefer pancakes, and the only topping I like is real Canadian maple syrup! @GuelphWayne
ReplyDeleteI love pancakes versus vaffles. But the true test of great pancake is when it's eaten cold. I actuallymake pancakes to have leftovers? I love to eat them cold with butter, just like bread. They taste totally different!
ReplyDeleteHard question. Love both pancakes and waffles. They have to be topped with REAL Canadian Maple syrup and Ontario wild blueberries. They only way to enjoy them - yum! Miss them so much...
ReplyDeleteI love waffles. I usually top them with blueberries (wild ones if I can get them), real canadian maple syrup and real whip cream. YUM!!
ReplyDeleteWaffles, plain and simple, with real maple syrup on top!
ReplyDeleteI love fluffy pancakes..with just the right amount of cinnamon in them with warm, homemade chunky applesauce or blueberry sauce on top...omg..so good...I feel like I'm cheating as it's almost like eating pie for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteYummmm.... =)
I love Waffles with Strawberries! I just got a waffle maker as a wedding present and would love to try it out!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Postma
It's a toss up for me and depends on my mood. I love waffles, but more for dessert - used to love them with strawberries and whipped cream, but alas, can no longer eat dairy. Pancakes are my preference for a breakfast food - with either real maple syrup or a berry syrup (blueberry is nice, especially on blueberry pancakes...and wild blueberries please - no tasteless cultivated ones for me).

ReplyDeleteI prefer waffles, because I grew up with the world's best waffle-maker (my dad). Of course those were made with wheat flour, so now I have to make them differently, but I've gotta say I still prefer them the way my dad served them...with just some butter and syrup!
I love waffles!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of using a little bit of chocolate sauce, a little bit of custard, some strawberries or raspberries made into a syrup, and some whipped cream!!! SOOOO GOOD!!!
Waffles!! With banana slices and real maple syrup!! Or strawberry preserves and whipped cream..... Mmmmm!!
ReplyDeleteApril Stauffer
Waffles!! for the kids. I would love to try these. Both my kids are gluten free, my daughter is also corn-free. And recently we have taken sugar out of my son's diet. Sugar is very hard to take out of his diet.
ReplyDeleteWaffles!! with homemade fruit sauce and no syrup.

Love waffles! I like putting chocolate chips in them. Sometimes I will put apple pie filling on top. I also like strawberry and blueberry flavored waffles as well :)
ReplyDelete~ Amanda Wereley
Most definitely waffles! I cook thin slices of pears, and add some fresh nectarines with maple syrup yum!!
ReplyDeleteWaffles are my favorite! I like strawberry, blueberry or chocolate chip flavored waffles (yes, I make them from scratch). What I usually put on my waffles is apple pie filling with a little bit of real maple syrup! Yum! :)
ReplyDeletePancakes (or crepes) with coconut, pineapple, jaggery and honey! Sweet and tropical! Delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love pancakes made with fresh blueberries and topped with warm maple syrup, yummy!

Waffles! Love having gluten-free pancake options at places like fresh, but man do I miss good, old-fashioned waffles with real maple syrup on top. And I have a waffle maker! (terri_to on Twitter)
ReplyDeleteI prefer Waffles, I love all the crevices and i love topping them with bananas! Real and dark maple syrup are the best on homemade waffles too!!
ReplyDelete-Sarah Sarmatzis-Smith
LOVE waffles! Especially with strawberries and maple syrup- YUM!
ReplyDeleteemferrier (twitter)
I NEVER used to like either pancakes or waffles, they sat so heavily in my system and I would suffer for what seemed like hours with digestive complaints. And then...I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy [among others!] and suddenly pancakes and waffles became a staple in my repetoire of quick and easy meals for busy days. I use organic maple syrup on buckwheat pancakes and waffles....my favourite is pancakes! Thanks for a great website and blog....Maureen O'Hara
ReplyDeleteWaffles are definitely better!! With fresh strawberries, vanilla ice-cream and fresh whipped cream :)
